When connecting a load, such as a battery with stored energy, please consider the following two main points:
1) Excessive reverse current flow from the battery to PWR-01 series:
Since DC power supplies generally have a capacitor at the output, connecting a battery may cause excessive current flow to this capacitor, leading to battery deterioration.
To counteract this, connecting a diode in series between PWR-01 series and the load can prevent reverse current flow.
However, with a reverse current prevention diode, it cannot be used in combination with the remote sensing function of PWR-01 series.
2) Battery discharge when the output is off:
DC power supplies have a discharge circuit that can draw a small amount of current to discharge the output capacitor.
If the DC power supplies are left with the output turned off, this discharge circuit will drain the battery.
As a countermeasure, one approach is to use a diode, similar to the above. Another approach is that PWR-01 series has a function to turn on/off its bleeder circuit (discharge circuit), so when using a battery connection, turn off the bleeder circuit.
However, even with the bleeder circuit turned off, the discharge current will not be reduced to 0 A. If this current is a concern, connect a mechanical switch between the PWR-01 output and the battery, as well as between the remote sensing and the battery. Turn off the switch when the charge is complete.
