The Solution
Key Aspects of the Solution
- The power supply solution enabled the manufacturer to output analog readings without the need for setup.
- No setup was required for three-phase applications either.
- The power supply’s superior interface meant that no experience was required to operate it.
Surprise at hearing there was “no setup.”
In searching for a solution, the members of the manufacturer’s design and development team became interested in the good reviews of Kikusui Electronics’ high-capacity smart AC/DC regulated power supplies they were hearing from fellow engineers and set about making enquiries. The Kikusui staff member who fielded the team’s request about speeding up the setup process for current sensors suggested they try the latest model in the PCR-WEA/WEA2 series of AC power supplies.
“I was surprised when the Kikusui representative said there is no need for setup, even in three-phase applications. In the process of hearing how the power supply could output analog current readings with no need for setup, I realized that it word enable us to make our testing process faster and more efficient,” says the employee.
The employee immediately set about renting a demo model, which he and the rest of the design and development team tested.

“When we tried out the PCR-WEA/WEA2 series for ourselves, we realized that Kikusui was definitely not exaggerating about the power supply’s capabilities. It didn’t require any of the setup or adjustment that our existing equipment did, and enabled us to output highly accurate analog readings. Ease of use is another major feature—even inexperienced operators were able to operate the power supply with ease. The team loved the interface, which is intuitive, even for novice users. We also liked the fact that the PCR-WEA/WEA2 series is being continually improved in accordance with users’ requirements, and that the latest models boast faster response times and improved output stability, as well as lower output impedance,” says the employee.
Presently, the manufacturer decided that the PCR-WEA/WEA2 to would be an effective solution to its problems, and officially decided to switch to the PCR-WEA/WEA2 series of power supplies.
Several weeks after switching to the PCR-WEA/WEA2, the employee described the difference it made to his team’s operation:
“Speeding up the testing process was a real headache for us, but the PCR-WEA/WEA2 series accomplished the task effortlessly, to the surprise of the staff in the technical development division. We continue to have high hopes in Kikusui Electronics’ ability to solve technical challenges. Thank you, Kikusui.”
