The Solution
Key Aspects of the Solution
- Each output (2, 3, 4 outputs) is isolated, and simple series/parallel connection to boost capacity.
- As all channels are independent, one power supply with different common potentials supports broad line strategy.
- LAN/USB/RS232C are included as standard digital interfaces for easy system integration.
Streamline inspection time by Multi-output DC Power Supply with isolated output.
The company D had been finding the solution to realize the streamlining inspection process.
Mr. A eventually reached to a web site of Kikusui Electronics Corp. and found PMX-Multi Series that is a DC Multi-Output Power Supply.
He learned that the PMX-Multi Series benefits from a low noise, series regulator design that makes this series the perfect choice for experiments involving transistors, IC circuits, and op amp circuits as well as R&D and production line applications. What interested Mr. A was the User Interface such as LCD color panel with high visibility and comprehensive status display. Mr. A gained information from his co-workers that the Kikusui products were being introduced to testing by major manufacturers renowned for their quality products. It was sufficient incentive for him to contact Kikusui for the details.
One power supply that supports multiple tests with different common potentials contributes to cutting down the inspection time to one third (1/3) as compared with conventional method.
Kikusui offered a demonstration model of PMX32-2QU on loan. Mr. A and his company evaluated the unit. The PMX32-2QU has four outputs and each output is isolated. A single unit can supply power to a circuit with different common potentials. Mr. A believed that this capability can be a great support for inspection on multiple devices. He was also pleased to know that LAN (LXI compliant), USB, and RS232C are equipped as standard digital interfaces for easy system integration.
“Accessing the web server built into the PMX-Multi Series by using a browser from a PC, smartphone, or tablet gave us convenient control and monitoring”, said Mr. A. After the evaluating the unit, Mr. A found the inspection time was shortened to one third (1/3) compared to their conventional test equipment.
Mr. A was convinced of the performance and decided to introduce the PMX32-2QU. The introduction of the PMX32-2QU dramatically changed company D’s inspection process.
“For mounting the unit to a rack, the rack mount adapter was also available and it was easy to remove the handle and the feet from the unit for installation into a rack system. Output terminals located at front panel also enhanced the user-friendliness”, said Mr. A.
As the company recognized that the PMX32-2QU contributed to streamlining inspection process, they are scheduling to introduce other test equipment as well for the further lean process.
